Nice. I like it. And I totally agree with you.
As entertaining as the dumbed down version was, it was nothing like it used to be.
And I also do have mixed feelings over what's being done recently. Alex being the unofficial 6th member of the Fantastic Four, and supergenius in training? I'm actually really pleased with that. Julie being a mentor in training for Avengers Academy? okay with that.
Julie being bisexual? Or more sexy lesbian? nothing against homosexual characters, and being bi myself, I found it rather pervasive. More of a PC campaign. It felt more like they chose this because of the rainbow tail. You'd think having a rainbow tail would make one automatically homosexual. It does feel like Julie lost a lot of what made Julie, Julie. It was too obvious that this was like what DC pulled with Alan Scott. Instead of making a character their own, they just took a previous character and turned it into a pr stunt. If it was another of the siblings, it wouldn't be as obvious, and I guess not as much of an issue.
I would like to see more of the younger ones portrayed a lot more in comics though. They seem to get the short end of the stick to this... especially Jack.

I'm totally behind you on this one--that the original 80s PP had an appeal that transcended age groups and the new one is for babies. In an attempt to appeal to a younger set, they lost the magic which Jon Bogdanove and Hilary Barta infused into the series.
Bring back the Bog & the Bar!
