I have been there too ..but it was worth it , the departure and specific kind f sadness that comes from a situation like that ..gave me some kind of hope that I wasn't destined to be alone forever.. having someone to miss , is better than no one at all imho..

I know how you feel - I met a someone I never knew this past summer, and she understood me so well. She could even tell when I was feeling upset but trying to hide it, and normally no one can.

It's upsetting how much I can relate to this. I'm in a similar situation.
I don't really have an advice, other than to not let it get to you too much. Things happen, relationships come and go. You might find someone else, or this guy might come back.
