This one is not as rich in detail as the one with Celestia, but this was kinda the point. I was inspired by an art with a specific pallet of colors and wanted to do something like it. The saturated blue really shines on the red tinted background.Color is doing all the work here. Whatever you may think about it, I am happy with myself. Though again, it doesn't look like a room in Canterlot, but I'm getting there. Canterlot tends to be really blue. I prefer to think they have a bigger variety of walls in the other chambers.

For once she looks content. So many night pictures of Luna have an air of sadness about her. It's a nice change.

Ah, I remember this one. It's beautiful and regal, but you should have applied at least a little of Luna's personality into it...some subtle bat and moon adornments here and there, maybe.Β

You did a fantastic job bringing The Princess of the Night to life in such a beautiful and splendidly regal way. Luna herself is magnificent in her form, texture, and style. Outstanding work on her mane & tail effects, and I love how the moonlight plays off of her beautiful eyes and highlights her thoughtful and happy expression. Her outfit and accessories are spectacular on their own, and on her they bring out her beauty in ways never seen before.

As for her parlor, there's just way too much awesomeness to describe, never mind the gorgeous moonlit sky casting everything in its magical glow on top of the room's own lighting. Everything is so wonderfully plush and elegant, and though it may be "rough" when zoomed in, it all ties together perfectly when it fits the screen; actually, if anything that working style lends a softer and more-natural look to everything, and then the elements which are finely detailed (glassware, curtain and upholstery patterns, etc.) stand out even more sharply detailed.

Gosh...This is simply incredible. Those deatails just have blown my mind. Such a regal look of Her, and it suits Her the most. That's why I love to see dresses on Lu. Ah, those eyes and lips...
I've been staring at this piece for 20 minutes or so, looking at the background, at the Blue Moon, and...staring at Luna, of course. There are so few really large-scale and detailed works of Her, where you can literally feel the life withing a picture, like it'd been drawn from a real place, from real Luna.
Darn it, I'm so pleased with this. Thanks for your hard work on this. I'm surtainly going to buy a print. You do ship those to Russia, don't you?

This is such a great image. Don't get me wrong, I love the great amount of detail you put into your other pieces, but this is nice seeing one not as highly detailed so as it allows us to focus on the subject, Princess Luna. Great job on the details on the outside. It's nice and bright, like a night with a full moon should be. Nice job on Luna's outfit, it's very regal and befitting our princess of the night.

Are the flowers in the vase something like moon-flowers? I thought about it a while but wasn't sure.

As long as you know the colours of the flowers you want to draw, then all is well ^^ But I think that Equestria isn't fully explored yet, so coming up with an own kind of flowers is one of the best things of the ponyworld

Thanks! No, it was more than just a week. Counting all of them together... maybe up to a month. Luna is looking surprisingly good in dresses, maybe because of her color.

That's what I thought. I watch a livestream of Assasinmonkey and how long it would take to make his pieces., so I thought you could have worked on it for days. That's why I said a week. But, considering he does it on many hours non-stop and life is still life (stuff to do, eat, sleep, etc.) I doubt it would take just a week. So I got to believe you. Still this is a spectacular piece. Luna's coat color, eyes color and ethereal mane and tail are not the only elements what enhance her beauty but as a equine her strong yet lank anatomy, statuesque figure and graceful traits doesn't let any fan indifferent. So, there is no wonder that despite her strong and regal presence, with her know wisdom and kindness, you would just wish to approach her and, maybe as a dare, to hug her.
She is also better proportionate than her older sibling. I mean shorter legs. At the end, she is a equine that its appearance have been modified to appeal kids and adults with very good results. She is a gorgeous mare and you really gave her justice.

It's impossible for me to say exactly the amount of hours anything takes me, as painting something non stop for hours can really exhaust you and you don't give yourself a time to think and improve a painting.
Luna is indeed designed to be appealing and also more regal looking than common ponies. Thin waist seems to be a common thing in more high class horse breeds. For some reason I still prefer Celestia's look, despite her ridiculously long legs. Her shape makes her look almost like a completely different animal, but yet you still can apply equine physique onto her. She's incredibly slick and what's most important her coat has a bright neutral color, which makes it easy to compose her into various scenes. Also, incredibly stoic and mentoring nature just gets me

Yes, Celestia is a strong mother figure and they made sure her appearance match her personality. However, I've remarked many artists who changed her proportions (legs and thorax) for anatomic and artistic matter. There is no denial from me that Celestia is a wonderful pony as well. And you really gave her justice in a older work of your. Still one of my most favorite.
