I wish I could have a wide angle to have more of this landscape.
I have to go to Poland to see that, btw.. I love this kind of landscape/seascape.

I choose to critique this image, because it has some really great imagery. The photograph's content is great. If I were taking the photo I may have taken it from a lower angle, but I can't say for sure, because I wasn't there. This photograph comes across fairly harsh. This I think is due to the contrast. It seems very contrasty. The most common thing that makes an image like that way is blown out highlights, but that isn't the case here. I can't really tell if this originated from film or digital. so I'm going to use fairly abstract terms that could apply to either.

You have good blacks and whites and they are both very nice in the immediate tonal range. It is the mid tones that bother me a bit. The upper tones (zone VII if you know the zone system) are a bit bright. This is the point where tones don't bring out very good detail. the lake bottom through the middle of the image is what I'm talking about. The overall image is contrasty, but through that part of the image the tones are spread in a way that they are all bunched up through that tonal range.

Overall I like the image, but I'd try to bring out some of the darker mid tones in the lake bottom.

Very nice and a beautiful idea, only one thing is perhaps aligning so at the bottom of the picture, the center of the ramp is at the center of the bottom of the picture.
Very nice and the black and white suites very well

I have to disagree with WMelange - I think this contrast fits perfectly to the image. It not too grey and not too dark. I really like it. .)

i think i like it. maybe if you put more contrast. i'm not sure. i just want to keep looking at it.

I think it's already contrasted enough. If I do more, I'll lose some greyscale.

This is a fantastic black and white shot. I really like the composition. It feels almost like the viewer is walking down to the beach, what with the vectors of the ropes and all.

Also, the grounded boats seem almost surreal. Great job.

Normally, this would be a common theme, but I like that you captured those boats at the right time, therefore.
