This is fantastic; not to mention the obvious technical skill of the painting, there is such tension lining his form, his hands, and his jaw ground so tight. his expression in itself is amazing, such intensity and feeling, the determination, the joylessness and the spiked energy... I don't even know how to say it but I stared at this painting for a good while. I can't quite say what the executioner is feeling only that he is feeling.
