Herman Li, of the band DragonForce. Graphite pencil portrait. This was my first time drawing an Asian face, so I am especially proud of how this one turned out. The underlying bone structure is very different from the Caucasian and African models I had used before, and it took a couple tries to get this one looking how I wanted it.Related content

I won't get to see them this summer, which makes me very sad. Dave (their drummer) and I are friends, and I'd promised to bring them more home-baked goodies next time they came through CO, but I have a performance that same day.

Sorry to get in your conversation, but I'm curious. You and Dave are buddyes? WOW, That's awesome! I am in Portsmouth (United Kingdom) At the moment, and I'm a big fan of them! I was thinking about making Herman a portrait and give it to him when they will have a concert here, in october I think.
