Description (Sorry for the MULTIPLE uploads there, DA is acting extremely stupid for me right now. This one should work, though...)

The Lau is one of the many, many lake monsters seen across the world that's been described as a flippered, long-necked reptile. It differs from all the rest in that it's said to have a number of tentacles jutting out of it's face, apparently for the purpose of grabbing prey and pulling it back into it's mouth.

Again, if you'd like to read more about this cryptid, please visit the good folks over at American Monsters: americanmonsters.com/site/2009…

Yes, I think an eel or giant catfish is much more likely.

I have no idea. Given that it's in Africa though I'm sure it's not cold.

If it's actually a catfish you know Mr. Wade will eventually haul the sucker in for a close up .

But anyway, I love the simple but effective design of the critter from what you've gathered on it.

I thought of that as well, there are definitely some big enough. Seems odd that they'd get a serpentine form out of it, though. Maybe that part's actually stemming from the mythical side of the story?
