Lovely photo!
My only thing is that the splashes might need to be bigger... other than that, it is beautiful!

Ok, Iβm going to try something a little bit different with my crit, so here goes!
General effect:
The idea of this piece is both unique and well put together. The stocks are well matched, and everything is pulled off quite nicely.
Background:
For me, the background is too sharp. It strained my eyes when I looked up at the sky, and it makes the piece look too grainy and odd. For the far away background, try blurring and gradually lowering the blur strength as you get nearer to the horse until it fades out. This, for some reason makes pieces look much more professional.
Water:
The water ripples are too un- natural. They need to be level with the water surface, but instead they go flat, which makes them look different. But it isnβt badly done and youβve just managed to keep it realistic enough, so I think they are fine, but need tweaking. The ripples and reflection and splashes are top notch. Nothing more to be said.
Horse detailing:
On the horse, youβve done a pretty good job detailing it. But this is just a matter of personal opinion speaking, it looks too much like the horse has been painted. Iβm not quite sure what effect you used/ what you did, but try not to make the horse look like its been painted into the picture. Other than that the detailing is pretty much spot on.
Tail and mane:
These are obvious strong areas, and I canβt fault either. But the colour stands out from the horse too much. The horse is more blueish black, and the tail is more raven black, which is slightly un-natural.
Eye:
The eye is that lets the piece down a bit. I canβt really describe how to draw an eye in words, but surf around deviantART, try lots of styles from tutorials and different people and see what works best for you.
Cutting:
Overall, the cutting is bang on. But around the neck it gets a little fat before it drips back in for the chest, which looks slightly off. Donβt be afraid to shape the horse differently that just going around the outside! It really does help, especially if you think the general outline is a little questionable. Also the cutting round both hind legs is a little choppy,so try smoothing that out.
Final touches:
Try adding on a boarder? It looks good when its done correctly! To do a boarder, select one long side of the piece and fill it in black. Undo the free select and duplicate the side and move it to the other side. Duplicate that and then rotate it so it goes horizontal, but it across the top side and then duplicate it and put across the bottom side. That probably made no sense whatsoever, but never mind.
Overall:
A stunning piece! Keep up the excellent work!
