I have to apologize for not drawing lions latley, I haven't been feeling in the mood for it. Been working on my portraits over atBut I hope you will all enjoy this one!~
I think we often forget a major part of TLK. We often see pics of Sarabi and Mufasa, and Simba and Nala, or Sarabi and Simba, but I think it's often over looked, the bond that was cut off so suddenly. And how good of a father Mufasa was, and how much Simba really loved him, and wanted to be like him (in the beginning anyway) and how all that was lost from him.
I think it's beautiful and I can relate, I lost my father when I was 8, and he was my hero. So I've been able to relate to Simba since I was a kid.

Aww, this is lovely. It touches me because I agree that the father-son bond between these two is a really important part of TLK that is sometimes overlooked in fanwork. TLK has always been one of my favorite my movies because I can also relate to Simba's loss. I lost my dad (at 8, oddly enough) and figured if Simba could make it without his dad... I could too.

Aww, too cute! Thank you. I agree this father-son bond is somewhat over-looked in fan art. I personally fell in love with TLK because of this relationship and it's story, but I've mostly made fan videos and only recently come to other fan art. (:

I'm melting in the light of your Mufasa's awesomeness. One of my favourite Disney characters! I love the depth of the grass around them, too. Simba's still so small!

He is, and it's rather reasonable too. Mufasa seems to be rather large male compared to other lions, so a young cub would look tiny compared to him, as Simba did.

I've had troubles with my old man since I was little so...no. Well, I always cry when Mufasa dies, but is more of an empathyc cause ñ_ñ'
However, I love how big Mufasa looks, in comparison with how tiny Simba looks...it's just beautiful

I really love this, Mufasa is one of my favorite characters because he's a king, but a gentle one. He knows the respect of the land and is a good father to Simba. I agree they should be drawn together more.

This brings back memories of watching The Lion King as a little kid. Nothing was more traumatic to me than the thought of losing my daddy, so seeing Simba lose his was awful. :<
