Well,Finally some space art again. This time a collab with ~Hammerz
I must say that i really tested ~Hammerz patience to the limit. It took me about 8-9 weeks to make something and that was not good enough. So i made something new with a new render and that took me about 3 weeks. And this time i feel good about it. The terragen work is done by ~Hammerz The space stuff, photomanipulation and impact were done by me. I also tried a new way of making planetrings, a little experiment

Spacescape (background and the planets) is absolutely beautiful, TG part a little less (maybe it's just because I don't like terragens with people)...The purple nebula is very realistic, and the rigns turned out perfect
There's one problem though - there doesn't seem to be any atmosphere! It's ok for the snowboarder (he mgiht be wearing a super-modern spaceboard suit), but the trees?!?
Also, I think the impact could be better...

Man, I love it, the nebula, the planets, they all fit perfectly together resulting in this astonishing fine piece of art! It's so beautiful I could stare at it for hours!
I also like the guy on the snowboard which brings some kind of surrealism to this image.

Beootiful stuph. My "advanced critique" goes for the artificial looking nebula, otherwise it's looking quite realistic. Though I would hope there would be some more effects by the atmosphere visible... There you go

Great work guys! Love the planets and the rings, and that terrain is to die for.
However the colours of the nebula look great, but it looks to flat, just no depth.
Lighting is off through (sorry) form the shadows over the terrain, i think more of the planets should be in darkness and the impact should have a better shadow
Aside from that i still think it deserves a fav!

Wonderful as always. You really do some awesome stuff. There is one detail that perplexes me though, how were the trees, snowtracks, and snowboarder added? They are fantastic! Definately a +fav.

I like it a lot. The planet is great, and the impact of the meteor is as well. What is that line doing in the middle of the nebulae though? And the nebulae is too obviously a textured brush. Otherwise, awesome!

great texture work here. Only things i notice: the flare in the nebula (the line rather) as burning liquid says does look a bit awkward. Also the impact looks nice except the top of it (the dark grey parts) - they jsut need some lower opacity me thinks. Thats my two cents

Very nice image, I like the guy skiing away from that impact - hope he makes it!
My main crit with this image is the planet just behind the ring - my pedant's mind is screaming at me - too close! It should be ripping material away from those rings like crazy. Come to think of it, so should the snow planet, but that's accounted for by the meteorite.
As for the rings, I like your new method - the rings appear to have depth and particularity, which although may not be realistic looks good.
The nebula to me looks too like cracked stone and not like billowy dust clouds: it could perhaps do with a bit of softening.
Still, good job: I don't think I could do better.

Nice to see you changed your 'ring style' they look much better now... exelent job on the impact aswell though the flare in the nebula looks a bit akward.. there is no lightscource wich could creat such a flare.. i would prefer some more glow in there anyway the rest is not bad alot all.... infact this piece is

It's very good! The only thing I don't like here is the impact (impact effect and the meteor) wich doesn't looks good in two ways: doesn't goes well if the rest of the piece and wasn't well done. 
The ring is very good and has a nice ligthing effect that shows some "mass" different from the rest of the rings that looks plane.
The nebula is fantastic!! Very well texturized and has a good depth and ligthing effects!
But I must feature my commeds for your planets: wow!!! This biggest planet is no doubt the best one I've ever seen!! The other one is awesome too, but the big one is gorgeous!!
Oh and congratz for ~Hammerz because his landscape is very cool

The mountains in the distance on the terragen are fabulous, really spectacurlarly detailed and just awesome! Also the rings and the purple nebula are great too - a wonderful piece both of you!
