I bet Ash lives in the Cartoon Network side of Cartoon Land while Tai lives in the Nickelodeon side. (FYI, Pokemon currently airs on CN and Digimon currently airs on Nick. How appropriate.)

Like some ave already said, XY Ash is actually the oldest he's looked.Β It was actually the previous series(I think Best Wishes) where he seemed to reverse in age, being stated to only be 10 years old even when there were points in the series where it had been stated much earlier on that a year had passed.

I realize deathbattle said Greymon could beat charizard, but if it were a team of Ash's best pokemon, like Muk, Greninja, Pikachu, and Charizard to name a few, I bet Ash could beat goggles boy all the way back to his Fox dub days.

But, I digress, you're probably right... Although, if Tai OR Ash faced off against an actual Pokemon player's team, they'd wipe the floor with their monsters.
I mean, just from OR and Y, I have Mega Mewtwo, Mega Rayquaza, Deoxys, Hoopa Unbound, and Yvaltal, and that's just my legendary only team... If such a thing exists.

I still don't understand why they refuse to age Ash/Satoshi with each new series. Β I don't see any real harm in showing the main character growing up...
