I'm missing those! While I was living in Canada I was at first surprised that "your" blackbirds are so colourfull. After a while I started to miss the sound of "our" (European) blackbirds, black-only (with yellow beak) but beautifully singing in the summer evening. But since I'm back, I'm missing again the unexpected flashes of red and yellow hidden in the black...

Thank you Helen. They can be a bit of a nuisance. They are voracious eaters and keep the other birds away. In the fall they land by the hundreds in the farmers fields to feast on the ripened grain and do a lot of damage.
