I'm missing those! While I was living in Canada I was at first surprised that "your" blackbirds are so colourfull. After a while I started to miss the sound of "our" (European) blackbirds, black-only (with yellow beak) but beautifully singing in the summer evening. But since I'm back, I'm missing again the unexpected flashes of red and yellow hidden in the black...

Thank you Helen. They can be a bit of a nuisance. They are voracious eaters and keep the other birds away. In the fall they land by the hundreds in the farmers fields to feast on the ripened grain and do a lot of damage.

Wonderful shot Candace, I love these birds!

At first I had to do a double take on this one.... looks so much like the perch that is to the left from my blind, and I was shooting there yesterday!.... Said to myself..... nah she's in Canada, how could she get here and find my blind?

Thanks George. That's so funny. If you look at my last two pictures; I think they are all on the same stick. I have a few dead branches planted in flower pots and placed around the bird feeder. They work great for pictures. The birds usually land on a branch before they go to the feeder. (and you don't get the ugly feeder in the picture). Now if I could only find that blind of yours
