What's Sad is that I see this all too often in any form of argument over anything, You name it: My Little Pony, Devil May Cry, Video Games in General, Anthro Artwork, fandoms, anything. The problem with peoples regular opinions these days is that Nobody can think openly. Nobody can even try to understand the other side of why and or how a subject, a fandom, a tv show, or a video game, can be appealing to another person; If they don't like it they say that it's a piece of shit and no one should ever have any interaction with whatever it is and Really, That's Terrible for someone to do; What if you're stopping someone from seeing something they could really like and inspire them to do something drastic? What if this will Open someone elses mind with some other situation and help them with that? Nobody is ever thoughtful for anyone anymore, It seems.Related content

personally, i hate mlp. some of my classmates at ccoc were fans of the show. this disturbed me because they were guys. they insisted i give the show a chance, so i went a week without skipping the clips that were used as ads youtube. i can't stand how annoying it is to me, but mostly, i hate how the fans cannot make a damn thing without shoving them in it. sure, i'm a sonic fan, but i've made videos with more than just sonic, and i don't constantly place sonic where he doesn't belong. am i glad he was in brawl? yes. will i start hating nintendo if he's not in smash 4? no because megaman seems like a pretty good replacement. do i shamelessly claim that every sonic game is great? no because sonic '06 was pretty bad, shadow the hedgehog didn't quite work as well as expected, and sonic heroes's physics engine almost makes the game unplayable at times. that's just to name three issues. if anyting, you could say i hate the mlp fans more than the actual ponies, but i still hate the ponies a pretty decent amount.

I respect your opinion, but you're being a little mean. You can't judge a show based on the advertisements. You judge on show based on the first few episodes. Or, if you decide the show doesn't interest you, you should never hate people just because they are fans.Β
And there are some Bronies who are obsessed, but not every fan is. Just like if youΒ are a fan of Sonic, but are not obsessed, there are other fans of Sonic who are obsessed. And most MLP fans don't "shamelessly claim" every episode is great, there are many Bronies who make youtube videos and stuff pointing out the flaws in episodes. I'm a fan, and there are some episodes I don't like at all. I also create MLP fan art, but I have art work of many other things as well. You really shouldn't judge a show based on the advertisments, (that's judging a book by its cover) and you shouldn't hate ALL the fans because SOME fans are obsessed.Β

i did watch a few episodes... i found it irritating as hell. keep in mind that can't judge a fanbase based on fans i've never seen. all i've seen are one that worship the damn things. if that's my whole exposure to it, what else is to be expected?

It's okay if you don't like the show. But,
You can just THINK for a second and realize that you only ever see the LOUD FANS, and that there are many fans who are just staying quiet. I have just told you that those fans exist, so now you can't use not knowing about them as an excuse for hating them. Have some empathy. What if I told you I hated Sonic, and ALL the fans, because I have seen some people have only Sonic fan art, and I watched an episode and hated it. Would that be fair? Keep in mind, you shouldn't judge an entire group by the loudest members alone.

if that's what you think of the sonic fanbase, i wouldn't say anything because i enjoy laughing at the people who call temselves fans, but do nothing but complain about the games. they hate the franchise but still follow it. i'd just let you believe that, laugh at the fact that they're supposed to be fans, and move on. also, i apologize that you have to suffer for what so many others have done, but that's life. all it really takes in the world is for one idiot to fuck up, and everyone in their group gets hated. my experience was dreadful, but that doesn't mean everyone's is. yours was ok, so you can go ahead and continue enjoying the ponies. mine sucked, so i'm not going to follow them. it's that simple.

For the record,Β I was just being hypothetical, to prove a point.Β I may not be a fan of Sonic, but the episode of Sonic I watched was fine, and I don't hate people if they are fans, even if they are obsessed. I don't suffer from MLP haters, they don't really see my art, but it annoys me when I see comments and things that are insults for Bronies. People shouldn't try to make fans ashamed for watching a show. It's just mean.Β
