Nice! I always enjoy viewing your latest work. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" /> There's not much to critique here- it's a cool design with a stormy background and fire- what's not to like?
A couple of things; firstly, the hand reaching out towards the viewer perhaps doesn't pop as well as it could. It's the same tone/ colour/ saturation as the body behind it, though it's clearly meant to be closer to us. The part of the tail that curves away from us is very strongly laterally compressed, though the rest of the tail isn't all that compressed and is more cylindrical in shape. Also, maybe fading the more distant wings a bit here and there, in a similar manner to the tail, might help with adding depth? (Though the depth is already quite nicely established on the wings, and convincing too.) Finally, though the dragon is well-balanced with regards to shape, and the flowing anatomy looks appropriately sinuous, it looks a bit squashed/ restricted in the composition on the bottom and slightly at the left-hand side too (though this last point is really debatable, because I don't really get that squashed impression when viewing the small image, just the full-view. Perhaps mirroring the artwork in Photoshop could determine whether or not I'm being too super nit-picky).
All of the above points are pretty minor crits and probably overly nit-picky, and I don't know if they'll be helpful or just annoying! I'd like to say that I think the scale detail is lovely, the muscles are really well-shaded, and the colours are way cool. Black and red always go together! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)" /> The markings on the wings are quite intriguing. The curving body and four wings just look plain cool. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/n/n… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Nod" /> Also, the slightly spotty watecolourish texture on the top-right clouds helps to prevent them from looking too soft overall.

I used to paint on the floor before I got an easel - don't you find it kills your back? (or maybe my posture's just terrible!).

I think it probably does! It definitely kills my elbow (but I suppose people have two elbows, and only one back, so maybe that's ok... @_@ ).

Excellent! I like the darkness of the scene, and the glowing red.

Thank you! The glowing red bits were some of my favourite details to add at the colouring stage.

Thanks, I'm quite fond of this one. If I had any skill at making 3D models (which I don't) I'd make one of this guy.

a long while ago i started an exo skeleton off a dragon on a poster called dragonspit.... it was coming out amazing until my brother and his friend were wrestling and wiped it out ....very angry i was ... I created it out of thin craft wire metal coat hangers and glue

I remember that picture. I used to have a few posters by that artist years back, but the way he drew dragons' limbs bugged me - the ankles looked too much like tree trunks rather than joints XD Shame your sculpture met that end! Did you not manage to get any 'in progress' photos of it?
