Description the third one of my first three efforts of digi-manip.

This one turned out so well I was almost dancing around the room.

Even better it got a lot of people talking at the con - especially the ones who recognised the visual pun (American Gothic by Grant Wood in case you were wondering)

A lot of research and time went into this one - the tuesday night before the con. Fortunately there were enough spare moments wednesday to get them all to a printer. They looked so very very good printed up on A3.

And the bidding was quite comprehensive - not as much as the furious bidding over Brian Choo's wide selection of stuff, or as high as the bids for Ruby Cadava's superbly disturbing photography, but more then enough to cover all my printing and artshow entry costs. And then I sold all the prints as well and got orders for more! whee!

Wow, this brings back memories. Glad I was able to offload all my old prints at the show...

Any idea what happened to Ruby? Haven't seen/heard anything from her in ages.

I know of 2 -inferior- sequels to this story. One involved a mutant tree from the Blasted Heath which was found to be eating anybody who stayed too long near it, and the other could be called "Son of the Colour Out of Space" where the monster bends some campers to its will and needs and they interfere with rescue operations at a resort foolishly built at the resoivour.

Yes, by J.Vernon Shea in paperback. Also the other unpleasantness is by Brian Lumley.

It was at this time that malaise and dissatisfaction with mythos fan-fiction was starting. I am now quite content with the books and anthologies I already have.

I still pick them up when I can. Lumley's The Big C was quite good - a mythos-tainted cancer takes over Florida

The Colour out of Space was one of the stories that shaped my life. I first encountered it in a library book ,an anthrology of scifi (by year). It made the previous and following stories pale in significance. Heck, I don't even know what THEY were about ! All I know is that story blew my head off ! I even tried to do a graphic novel version, but after 1 page, I knew my skills were far short of anything ! They still are far short.

I next found it in a Lancer reprint of Lovecraft's stories. That paperback and many others has been long discarded, but I have the Arkham House collections.

I think this is very well accomplished
I can see the American Gothic in it and it makes it even creepier

Ah, a true classic. The original picture is perfect for The Colour. It turned out very well. (You wouldn't mind if I added color to this, would you?)

For rent:

Picturesque New England cabin, a bit of a fixer upper but really remote for those who want to get away from it all. Features strange looking foliage for those that like to see something different. At dusk the whippoorwills gather in huge noisy flocks but hey who is afraid of a bunch of birds? Last owners loved it to death.

For inquiries, see Seth at Dunwich Realties or email seth@dunwichrealty.com

Well done, kudos on this.
