Description A 3-D bead Sprite of S.O.P.H.I.A. from Blaster Master. This piece contains a lot more beads than it seems, with nearly 2,000 beads. Many of the pieces run through the car, either from front to back or from side to side, due to the irregular shape of the car (regular being square, like many of my other 3-D pieces).

This took about 5 hours total, including designing, beading, ironing, and assembling. Unlike my A-Team van or the General Lee, the wheels are 3-D, not just flat bead sprite pieces off to the side.

Making 2-D bead sprites is one thing, but turning 2-D sprites into 3-D creations must be quite a trick! Amazing work!!

Thank you very much. Oddly enough, the hardest part for me isn't the planning or building - it's ironing the pieces, cause if you iron too much, they wont fit together; but iron too little, and the beads break apart. It's definitely a niche I'm unique to, haha...not too many people doing it, although I'm always trying to get the folks at the Beadsprite forum to give it a go!

I really need to try my hand at making some bead sprites. This just looks like too much fun. I mean I'm sure they're a chore to make, but the results are what make it worthwhile.

Ho-Ly crap, that's amazing the SOPHIA never looked so hot! Lets get that thing in some sewers pronto and go look for some lost frogs!

Yes - let's do it! Of course, it's gotta be rough, having to take out a frog you wanted to find and bring home to be your pet...

Funk yes man, this is genius. I love your 3D Bead Sprites! Perhaps sometime I can request one from you? ^__^ Not sure how difficult it would be, but imagine a 3D, NES Rampage bead craft, that is perhaps a bridge on the ground level, and a building with a monster holding the side, and perhaps either beating up the building or eating a civilian. ^__^ Idk, just thought it would look rather epic.

I'm always down for commisions. The general Lee from Dukes of Hazzard was a custom, and I implemented some techniques I've never tried before. Are you thinking of buying a piece or do you just want to see it made? Either way, I'll probably be down.

Ultimately I would like to purchase a custom 3D one from you, or we can do some sort of art-trade. Does the Rampage piece sound possible, or is that a little out of control. Now that I think about it more, I believe trying to balance the monsters weight onto the side of a building may cause problems. But I'm sure there is some trick one could do, perhaps putting a hidden leverage weight inside the building. Or super dooper uber glue would work. ^___^

Or put George on one side and Lizzie on the other. Or with a base of sorts, the weight wouldn't be an issue, as the resistance would be provided from the bottom of the building.

I'm not really in to art trades but if you got something real kick ass, I might be down.

I dream in pixels...the 3-D stuff is simply an extension of that
