A quick little entry into the "Myths in Winter"

Anansi the spider and his wife, Aso from African mythology. This contest was a god opportunity to finally design Aso - I've had Anansi for years but no Aso. ;-;

It took me a ton of time to get this down on paper. At first you think: "eight arms and eight legs? No problem!", then you try to do it... woah.

I discovered an easy way to come up with posing all those legs is to basically come up with two poses you'd do for a normal biped and then draw them both. So, if you cover up one pair in the picture you can see the "other" pose.

Somehow I get the feeling Aso's just as smart as her trickster husband only she puts it to better use. I bet she even tricked him into tripping finger first into a wedding ring.
It's really tempting to come up with my own children's book off of these two.
Next time I gotta design some of their kids.
