Description For the calender project at: .

We're just supposed to help come up with twelve images that will go into make a calender. :3

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem was the very first video game published directly by Nintendo to be rated "M".

What's it about? Well... it's about mankind's struggle against the Ancients - evil Gods trying to take hold of man's sanity. The game stretches over about 1000 years of history in four areas: America (Rhode Island), Ancient Persia, Cambodia, and France (The church at Amiens).

You get to play as twelve individuals as they try to overcome the darkness. From a Roman Centurion to to a field reporter in WWI. Tis a very unique game. It's the only one I know that has a "sanity meter".

This guy pictured is Paul Luther. (My favorite level!). His story takes place at Amiens during the time of the Spanish Inquisition, 1485.

I don't usually like seeing writing on pictures, but seeing as how this is for a calender page, I thought it was appropriate. The quote was said by the custodian of the Chruch at Amiens - Paul's only friend in the struggle against the Ancients.

That looks fantastic!

So creepy with the shadows and when you've played the game, you can't help but feel sympathy for poor Paul Luther and his friend in that unholy cathedral.

Glory! I never played this game sadly. It looks super fascinating though just by checking out your artwork of it.

I've heard of this game. As your sanity meter goes down, you start seeing REALLY FREAKY things.

Anyway, EXCELLENT picture. I like the stained glass and the color scheme. And I just noticed the subtle shadows. Very creepy :3

Haha, some of the sanity effects are meant for the player, too.
One time the game pretended it was deleting all my information. My sister and I freaked out.

This is a very creative arrangement. Not only does the glass serve as a symbolic element, it also allows for a lot of depth by revealing objects in both the foreground and the background. That was a good move there. Not to mention the lighting on Paul is superbly done. Makes me wish I had played the game.

I'd lend it to you, but something tells me you're not the psychological-horror kind of guy. Hehe. (Truthfully, neither am I but this game was an exception.)

Now Paul is alone! Alone against the darkness!

Awesome work, Zime! You captured the mood of the game expertly, I can just hear the scary music playing with the DUH-DUH. And the stain-glass thing is was a great idea executed wonderfully!

Paul Luther was such a wonderfully gentle soul wasn't he? Like even when he discovers and talks to Pious his tone never raises and they got such a perfect voice for him. But this captures the more melancholy undertone that is definitely pleasant. Must have more so than everyone else completely ruined his world when he stumbled on what he found in Amiens. This is really gorgeous

The shadows of the monsters on our side of the window is such subtle but brilliant like have to stare awhile to see all the details. The fact that they are lining up against him as well. The angel is really such a contrast like the small serene smile on her face while everywhere, everyone is dying.

Thank you so much

And yet, the quote stands true...his wonderfully gentle soul stood and waited for centuries until the final battle against Pious and the ancinet.

This is absolutely stunning. The stained glass looks amazing, and I love all the shadows of the monsters on the glass as well. And Paul looks properly upset here, like he's lost and wandering at this point. This really is awesome. I'll put it up on the club's journal right now. Wow, our first entry.

Wow... Fantastic job with the glass! Both the stained glass effect and the interaction. I can't stop looking at it because it's got so many layers to it.

Beautiful!

Thanks! My sisters thought I was crazy for drawing the stained glass - it took a long time to re-line on the computer. :0

I can imagine so! Both your sisters' thoughts and the time it took you to reline.

But it turned out fantastic!

Holy shit I LOVED that level. Great minds think alike!

Charlemagne was great too, but a little weird. I did play through it all three times though. Interesting the lighting changes and subtle shifts they made on the different playthroughs.

I think you've captured Paul's hopeless stare perfectly!
