I owed ~darkelf19 a sketch of Mozenrath for winning first place at: #mozenrath . Hehe.Mozenrath is a badguy on the Aladdin Cartoon series. He was a crazy cool villain (which would explain why people still remember him).
He rules over a place called simply, "Black Sand".
He was originally meant to be Aladdin's brother, but I guess that plan was either discarded or they just never got around to it. (I wish I could talk to the writers and designers about him. He's so interesting!)
Mozenrath wears a gauntlet on his right hand that allows him to do magic. It was revealed in one of the episodes that the gauntlet in fact has eaten all the flesh off of his hand so that only bone remains. "The price of Magic".
(What a shocker! I wonder what it would be like if people still made cartoons like that?)
Xerxes is the weird flying eel that is completely loyal to the wiz-kid. I guess he's supposed to be the opposite of Abu. ...I wonder where that eel came from? I bet it came with the gauntlet. Hehe.
I decided to do more than just a sketch, though because I had to deny her first request. (I don't like drawing pairings.
) I tried adding some fabric patterns. Heehee.

Looks Great! He was my favorite villain. I heard they were going to go with him being Aladdin's brother in the third movie but decided they wanted to minimize any connections between the tv show and movies (this was a long time ago so I don't remember where i heard it).

It's very lovely overlying those pattern on the cloak and cloth. It adds an interesting depth to you work, it also very unique as I only saw one other piece with this technique. I love the white sand like speckles creeping up into the pattern. Beautiful night background. Mozenrath was one of my all time favorite villeins <3 I never knew he was originally designed to be Aladdin's brother O_O That would have been interesting to see.
And wicked little Xerxes, Mozy was always so mean to him T_T

He was probably some eel caught in a net and tossed aside by the fisherman. It's likely Moz felt a twinge of sympathy in his youth and saved him, then used him as the subject of his 1st spell...

Oh my goodness! I totally remember this guy from the series, but I always thought it was just a made up memory.
And that eel gave me nightmares when I was a kid. I think he also might be part of the reason I have a phobia of worms xD

Awesome work on Monzerath here he was a great villain I heard about him being Alddain brother they did went to do that for the third film, I also though he fitted the Jafar evil wizard role perfecely in the series

One of the best villians ever. He was going to be revealed as Aladdin's brother, from what I've heard in the third movie, but his voice actor died, and they had to discard the plan. I thought it would've been an interesting idea there, since if you look closely Mozenrath and Aladdin look almost alike.
