Hey everyone. I know it's been a while since anything new has come up, and I'm sorry about that. Some of it is writer's block, and some of it is that, I want to get certain things done in the stories, but I have written myself into a corner. Primarily with Decay. The RWBY story most of you followed me for. I really hate to say this, but... I don't like Decay.
Not the idea I had behind it or what I had wanted to try with it, but the way I wrote it. Which was just the show... but with an extra guy. Doesn't serve any purpose, and should absolutely not have been accepted into Beacon. But that's what I wrote, and I hate it. There are so many, SO many, stories where the reader is there from the start and the episodes play out with this new "character." Which most of the time isn't a character; just an amalgamation of cliches, tropes, and popular lines and actions from video games and anime.
This "character" I made... is not a "character." I realize the strong silent types can be GOOD characters. But not this dumdum. Quiet and emotionless because of his Semblance. That could work, had I not already made him sarcastic and emotional DESPITE myself stating/writing that he can't be that. There I wrote myself into a corner. And I did what so many bad writers do, and I had this guy do things and be the catalyst for things that he should have had no part in. Again that was bad writing.
I don't like to think I'm a bad writer. But I think I'm a bad story teller. I know a that most of you are here because of Decay, and that's alright. But I'm sorry to say that I want to scrap it. Either start anew with what I wanted to do with this, or make an entirely different story and character. Please let me know, what all of you that read this and have read Decay think. Because this affects you just as much as me and I NEED to know what you guys think.
Also, if those of you that read this are okay with me scrapping the premise I had for something newer, then let me know if you want to know what I had planned and what I thought of doing for Decay. Either way, I hope to hear from you guys and see you soon.
