Following the lead of *Makotron and ~dcjosh have taken with speedpainting the TF movie characters. The speedpaints they did were of Optimus, so I decided to do Ratchet since I'm tired of coloring Prime. I like Ratchet's design; I didn't nail it too accurately, but I'm a little happy with how it came out. His proportions aren't really in step with how he looks in the movie. But it's a speedpaint, and it's pointless to dissect and crit my speedpaints... because... yeah. They were done fast XD.Done in Photoshop 7 in 32 minutes.

I really like the way these speed painting sessions turn out, I really like the messy lines and the rough look to the image, just makes a change, which is nice, great work!

I love this pick. After seeing the movie a few months back, I became a big fan of Ratchet. (Everyone else liked the other ones, I went for the underdog.) Beautiful job. I wish I could paint like that. Oh well, I'll just have to be a little Ratchette and stare at the pictures other people draw.

Great use of colours, you captured them well. And the expressive lines really go well with it all.
I think I'll fave since this has made me like the movie design of Ratchet more (He was probably my least fave robot-wise in the LAM).

man... this just rocks, dude. speed painting is probably something i'm not gonna try anytime soon, but you make it look very cool (so do makoto and josh actually).

Makoto's speedpaint looks SO much better than mine in all, andJosh's Prime head speedpaint looks cleaner than my speedpaint XD.

It's Ratchet...if I didn't say something here, I'd seriously have to be cuffed and carted away, or questioned for the possiblity of an overdose.
Even a speedpaint, your art is still f-in epic, Bumbles. I like how you did face a lot. It's the new design, but still has the old Ratchet attitude in it. : D It's kinda a small detail, and I'm not so sure that it was intentional [or for this reason really] but it's really cool that you can see his hands in the picture. A medical professional's hands are their most valuable asset; to include them in the picture with him is just as important as his face, really. So I really love that you did that. : )

Very well done - even for speed painting. lol I'm not too happy with what they did to Ratchet in the movie. Medics are suppose to be red and white painted, not yellow and crap. XD Oh well, just more reason for Micheal Bay to try and LEARN about what he's making before he makes it... like a cake! lol

I believe the color scheme was based on a specific medic vehicle? I think those were the colors for Europe vehicles or something.

Holy crap! Once again you've have whipped my artistic butt. This looks awesome, despite the fact that it's inaccurate. It's still amazing for a speedpaint though, and I really like it.
It also looks kinda like grafitti thanks to the white around the edges and stuff, which is pretty cool. I'd love to see this scrawled across a building.

haha! Aw. I love the movie designs- I think they're great for Transformers. They're radically different than the traditional idea of what the Transformers look like, but the designs do a grand job at making them look alien and more intricate : ).
G1 is great- but I think this movie will be it's own kind of awesome. It's a completely different TF universe, as I see it XD

hehe, check my attemp in my scraps... i suck at speed painting, i need a pen tablet. I ussually do sketch on paper then scan, but that wouldnt count as speedpainting isnt it?

I want to say it does? I'm not sure. Speed painting, I think, refers to the colors on image... unless the whole image counts... then you can just call it a speed-draw! : D
