If you want to Pam, go back in my gallery and check out the wood duck pics I have, and use them as a reference point of the setting you want.the one in the stream would make a super painting!

It would . I have a male I am thinking I am going to paint pretty soon. Then maybe a pair. As flashy as the males are in their breeding colors - I really love the subtle colors of the little females

See that's where you are so lucky.... I wish I could paint ( can't draw a straight line free hand) so, I use the camera and lens as my paint brush and canvas...

You take beautiful photos though. I have a ton of photos myself - but I don't post them online if there is a chance that I may want to use them for reference. I have to admit that I get excited when I see wildlife, whether I am going to paint them or not. I could see 100 deer in a day (actually have seen a lot more than that!), and I would still get excited when I see number 101

Hahaha Not yet. As soon as I get caught up on some of my commission work I am going to do a painting of wood ducks though. I am thinking maybe a male and female sitting on a log with their reflections in the water below them

Thanks . It is not super sharp because I had to zoom quite a bit - but one of my favorite things is reflections in the water, and I love wood ducks

Thank you sir . Actually, wasn't much work involved - I just took the picture. hahaha I took Megan to school this morning and the sun was shining after a good snow last night, and I decided to swing around the lagoon and see what the ducks were doing. I always love getting shots of the wood ducks, and loved the little group of them together like that.

I went on a business trip myself Saturday . To Yellowstone Park. Got some great photos of a band of Big Horn Rams, saw a couple bands of ewes and young ones too. Great buffalo shots, there were a lot of them close to and On the roadway. And Megan and I saw some wolves. They were too far away for my camera - but Megan was thrilled beyond words to see them. Just taking care of business

LOL Actually - that is a female mallard behind them. Which is too bad - I wanted to boot her out of there and have one of the female wood ducks take her place. But the damn things wouldn't cooperate.
