Description Very proud of this planet.
I've used the planet before and it can be in in my other deviation Three Planets V2
As you may well be able to see if you look at the original planet I have made a few improvements!
I have changed and improved the starfield, played with saturation, colours and things. I have also managed to add some rings to the planet. I've been playing with this effect for some time now, and I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it. This deviation used to be in my scraps but I feel that its now good enough to properly release to the public. Sorry that it's so small but this is the size I was editing it at.

Wow, I would LOVE to learn how to make planet rings like that.

Trial error and experimentation! They came about by accident Thank you.

That's an interesting way of creating planetary rings, quite nice.

Thank you, I'm not sure I'd use the same technique again, but it's all a learning curve.

Anytime. Well normally the rings around planets are made either by using a tutorial or using lots of home made asteroids. This one seems to be made by light so yea, i find it interesting. [link]

I've been looking a lot into planet scenery again recently, this was an early experiment before I found a load of tutorials about how it could have been generated more 'realistically' but yeh, experimentation with ones own methods is a good place to start I think. Thanks again for the thoughts

Well experimentation is always nice, i just posted the Mirage to my gallery, it was all experimentation ^^

Hey, I never commented on this...

You haven't made a planet in over a year!

I know, but it takes so long when you have to keep switiching between two bits of incompatibubble software

your ring is not conventionnal..as pointed out above...
but i like it this way...sticking to reality is not always a must

earzy88 In reply to jiwwy-ast [2005-03-13 11:41:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, I suppose if we all stuck to reality there would be no imagination. Well, that sounds like a good excuse to me.

A nice job, but the rings and the starfield behind the planet seem to blend. Is this an effect you were tying to get??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

earzy88 In reply to Raye9683 [2005-03-11 19:25:11 +0000 UTC]

I wasnt going for any effect in particular, I've just been experimenting. But you have made a good point! Thanks! Its like that because of the way I made the rings, there is no difference between the rings and teh starfield.
