Wow... you've really outdone yourself with some of the coolest effects I've ever seen in an AVS pack to date. Stormy Seas 2 really shines though.

Ah ha! I have AVS 2.80. It may not be much different, but everything else I tried hasn't worked. So, is there somewhere where you can update it or would I have to redownload and install Winamp all over again?

Ignore that. I just reinstalled Winamp and everything works wonderfully now, so thank you for your help. Also, a congradulations is in order. This pack is absolutely marvelous. It's stunningly beautiful and sheer genius. Bravo.

I'm having a lot of trouble with this pack. Nearly 70 percent of the presets won't run. I'll either get a black screen or half of the preset will load but nothing else. I think it may have to do with these megabuff functions. Am I doing something wrong? Do I not have something that these need to run? I ran it on Winamp 2, 3 and 5 and still nothing. Please help!!!

As stated in the readme and in the installer the presets won't run properly in WINAMP3. In WINAMP2 they will only run if AVS version 2.81 is installed at least.
With WINAMP 5 they should work properly since this AVS version came with the first WINAMP 5 install.
In WINMAP 5 go for OPTIONS -> VISUALIZATIONS -> SELECT PLUGIN to check the AVS version installed. If the version is OK and selected the presets should work.
To view these presets you will need proper versions of TEXER2.APE and COLORMAP.APE. They are located in WINAMP \ PLUGINS \ AVS. These files come with the installer. If these files are already installed in your WINAMP the installer asks if they should be overwritten if the versions coming with the installer are newer. Select YES for both files to make shure the presets will run.
If all of the above is done the presets should run.

Holy crap FTL01 v2.0 is bloody amazing. Screw colours and beat response, when you watch this one you just feel encompassed. Plus it works great in fullscreen. This is one great pack.

...damn i cant beleive i missed this...
Great pack, i loved most of it, spirals,ftlv01(the best tunnel preset EVER),redskies, untitled, 3doczilloscope,solarstation....and the others, except for FTLv02 and Plasmalights, and for a bonus the FPS is great althrough the pack.
Top notch pack, the crown will be forever yours!

Intro - Fairly simple, but it looks ok, i like the dm in this one.
Spirals - Wicked, i like the colors and the way it just keeps on changing.
FTL02 - Dont like this one, the colors are to random and because of the random sized particles the perspective doesn't
look good
Singularity - Cool ssc work and the black and white looks good with it.
Red skies over paradise 2 - Nice colors, but a bit boring
The masterplan 2 - One of my favorites, good fps, colors and reaction.
FTL01 - I like this one better than FTL02, the way it shifts between a tunnel and random particles, plus the BW looks
really stylish
Atomic - Like the idea, but the colors just dont fit my taste
Colorangel - The DM is wicked, but i'm not a fan of random colors
Hypnotized by sound - Another favorite,ΓΌber-reactive!. reminds me of a preset i posted on the WA forums
Red light green light - Looks good, but gets boring real fast
Wipeout 2 - The third favorite, only bad thing is its moves kinda slow, but the idea and looks are wicked
Plasmalights - Im not a fan of random colors
Untitledstylething - My favorite of the pack, those cool spheres and the excellent feedback background
Layering - The colors and feeling of depth make this one another fav.
Aztec - Like colorangel, but better,a lot.
Gravity - Nice technique, but i dont like it, matter of taste
FTL03 v2 - Like FTL02 the dept doesnt really show that well.
Experimental 2 - mmm, nothing special IMO.
3dtimeozilloscope - Smooth and reactive, i like this one
Atomic 2 - Better than atomic, it looks really cool when it zooms in.
Reflexionsonacolororgan - Reactive and fast , even in fullscreen
Spindle - Good ol' El-Vis SCC work.
Solarstation - Nice chillout preset
Gyrosuperscope - Wicked scopework, and original colors and background, another fav.
Stormy Sea 2 - Beautiful and realistic, another fav.
Overall: Really nice pack though the the difference in quality is big sometimes. Some presets feel rather unfinished, like ftlo3, or use random colors, which i dont like. But the good presets more than make up for that, those are some of my all-time favorites already.

Hooraaaaay, another El-Vis pack for me to love.... and I do!
This pack is fairly typical I would say, some truly beathtaking work, and some...er....so-so presets.
Favorites:
Singularity: its a very nice effect to produce and cleverly done with ssc's
Atomic: That cube effect is so damn cool, as soon as i saw it I wanted to steal the idea!
Hypnotized By Sound: I usually dont like presets this simple but it works so well, it has a strangely likable quality
Wipeout2: The tunnel is really well done, although the rest of the fuzz is a bit naff imo (the mouse control esp, what is that?)
Untitles style thing: Didnt like it at first but it's really grown on me
Gyroscope: Mainly because I think the colouring is done extrememly well
Spindle: Just - looks - gooooood
Stormy Sea 2: It was already one of my favorite presets ever
There were some which i was massively underwhelmed with too:
Experimental2: hmmm, it just looks like it was an experiment, plus the mouse control is unintuitive and awkward
Plasma lights: Its just flashing crap, you could do this with one texer2 and a water
Aztec: One big DM bug
On the whole the good was very good and the bad was very bad, but to be honest thats what I expect from an El-Vis pack. But then I'd rather see a pack with a few great presets than lots of good ones

el-vis In reply to pak-9 [2004-08-20 07:41:10 +0000 UTC]
Wipeout2:
The mouse control lets you adjust the speedup of the tunnel on music values. Since the level of music input will differ on different systems according to soundcard setup, type of input, type of music, etc.
Experimental2:
Because clicking differs between windowed and fullscreen mode I wanted to do a control without clicking or dragging. This is the best I found.

Fair enough, my point was really that the mouse control didnt add anything to the pack. I probably would have prefered it if it had been left out, and you had concentrated more on just other good visuals. From the sound of your previous comment, you aren't particularily happy with the mouse control presets either.

I can't believe how much I enjoyed this pack. As stated before, very two sided. But this is a strength!
I love the super-coded/new-features 3-D scope: FTL03_v2, redskies, & atomic. But what really blew me away were all the "good old days" presets. Aztec, colorangel, & spiral are crafted so well, I sure hope everyone can appreciate them. These presets make me want to go back a couple of years.
& then there are a couple presets that lie somewhere inbetween. Sort of old & new.
But all of these are just great. Good to see you around & I hope you continue playing around with the new effects.

I really like some of these presets and I really hate some of these presets. You make difficult packs .
Presets I like:
Singularity: wonderful scoping on the vortex, but maybe the wires should be replaced by something more visible?
Red Skies Over Paradise 2: great could texture, wonderful preset . Maybe the antennas could be moving towards the camera and appearing again after being passed, like you're looking through the roof of a car driving forwards?
Atomic: The d=-d mirroring makes this preset a bit dizzifying. I prefer without. Maybe the coloring on the cube could be a little less random RGB? Also (and this goes for your other 3d texer presets), you should rescale sizex/sizey based on 1/z to get correct depth sizeing. In your case: sizex=2*ns*col/div;sizey=sizex; (beware cos you calculate sizex before div now).
Hypnotized by sound: great texture. Still, the onbeat re-zoom is a bit too jarring. A smoother (maybe 3D?) version would rock.
Wipeout: nice solid scoping... it's a bit slow (movement-wise, not fps-wise) though.
Untitled Style thing: cool sphere! reminds me of the good ol' Amiga .
Aztec: nice shapes, but the coloring is a bit too random for my taste . I made a simple edit here [link] .
Gravity: cool! The solid bands give it that extra touch.
FTL03: the only one of the FTLs which I like, though only with the particle size changed as described above for atomic. The FTLs could all use a little more response.
Spindle: simple and very responsive. You could easily make a solid version of this though, just occlude either one of the caps with the center, or the center with one of the caps. A background would help remove the emptyness around it.
Gyrosuperscope: Cool and stylish.
Stormysea: wonderful preset, very relaxing... looks like zevensoft has competition for Ocean presets .
I don't really like the others, sorry .

I know this pack is sort of ambivalent.
1. Perhaps because this is like I felt when doing this. Time ago I didn't want to do another Pack or even a single AVS but then new AVS came up with all this nifty new features like linesize, megabuffers, programmable effectlists, etc. Things I really missed in previous versions of AVS. I couldn't hold back to mess around with even if I hardly had the time for.
2. Also sometimes I tend to get a little tired of all those high-end 3D-presets though the new features of AVS do a great job here. So some of these presets are made in defiance of the general trend towards complex 3D. Perhaps I tried to dig a little too deep into the "good old days" of AVS.
3. One of the reasons I started doing AVS-presets again was the new interactivity features. So the first preset I made was "Experimental". But shortly after this I realized deflated that I did not find interactivity very useful. I thinks it is better to do presets making the viewer lean back and stare than forcing him messing around with interactivity features. But when realizing this it was too late to stop doing AVS again.

Oops, hit the [submit] button too soon.. Here's the rest:
Spindle - Looks cool if a little simple ***'_
Solarstation - Funny somehow. ***'_
Gyrosuperscope - You could have made the visualizerscopes cillindral. Has an old-paper feeling to it ***'_
Stormysea2 - Again, an instant 5-star. This is really insane. *****

instant
I still stand amazed with what you can do with only little code with everytime you release new work.
You really have a way with colors.
Review: *=1 star, '=0.5 star _=no star
Intro - Kinda simple, looks like there's some plastic wrapped around it thanks to the intense colors. ****_
Spirals - Looks cool and runs really fast. ****_
FTL02 - an almost 2d dotplane rotating in 3d... Looks cool thanks to the intense colors. ***'_
Singulatity - cool.. just cool. dunno what else to say ****_
red skies over paradse 2 - WHOA!!! so realistic. instant 5-star without looking at the sourcecode *****
The masterplan - Good preset in itself, but a bit disappointing after a preset like red skies. Borg-ish. ***'_
FTL01v2 - a 3D tunnel created by t2 dots. I think a colored version would have been better here. I know you created it as a test, but still... ***__
Atomic - Feels like a cubic Disco-sphere ****_
Colorangel - I agree with the others here. It looks too much like aztek but it's not as good by far. ***__
Hypnotized by sound - Cool - a bit too fast perhaps ***'_
Redlight - Green light - If it were supposed to be realistic, then what would be the sattelites? if it were supposed to be a music visualizer, it looks cool, but gets boring really fast. ****_
Wipeout2 - I too have tried to create a SW Podracer (that's what it is right?) a while ago but found it a bit difficult to rotate it properly. Interactivity isn't very noticable though. ****_
Plasmalights - Shagadellic, but seen toooooo often. I already did this somewhere in June 2000 or so.
Untitledstylething - Nice... I like the black borders here. Unlike a lot of other presets around, they really look good here. ****' (doubting towards *****)
Layering - AVS in it's purest form *****
Aztek - Showing how to use the ever-annoying gridsize properly... I still love this style of presets. ****_
Gravity - // checks behind his monitor if there's another DM or so... // Is that DM really all the movement there is?!? There's got to be a movement, right? Whatever... *****
FTL03v2 - Okay , now I want to know what FTL stands for... looks cool ***'_ (doubting towards ****_)
Experimental02 - Dude, make more experiments ****_
Timeosziloscope - You've gotta have one pure SSC-based preset right? ***'_
Atomic2 - A little dark on the colors.. Like the origional better. ***'_
Reflexions On A Color Organ - Plasma'ish.. like a 256 color monitor emulating a picture.. ****'
Total: A very varied pack. Top class as we're used from you. (<--that almost sounds like I'm not amazed, but believe me, I really am) Still little points to work on, but this pack is worth a daylydev, at least a from everyone who's AVS-minded
Overall score: ****(3/4) stars

Great pack!
Ultra sweet presets: FTLXX, singularity, redskies..., untitledstyle..., layering, 3dtime..., atomicxx, solar station, gyrossc, stormy sea2
Didn't really like: colorangel, masterplan, plasmalights, experimental.
hypnotized by sound: it looks really sweet, but it is too fast for me.

Yummey!
This was a great pack (as usual).
Since I saw the Singularity-preset in my head on a trip on some wierd chemicals (when you first released it). I will always remember it and its a great preset.
The 3dtimeoszilloscope is wicked! The spindle's morphing is so f*ng smooth. Atomic and Atomic 2 are also really nice.
accually the only preset i didn't like was the colorangel. It looks like a "newpick-preset" for the first avs ever or something like that.
The reflexionsonacolorgan isn't a fav aswell. too much colorchanges and not so smooth movement.
The others rocks! keep up the good work!
