Thank you very much! This was a really interesting challenge to make, since the corset is made of the jacket's lining. I just made another very similar bolero to wear with the Captain America corset I posted, and my friend scored a jacket that will make a PERFECT Soviet army-inspired corset.

Ah, but I've had years of practice making pretty things! (And lots of foul-up, bleeps and blunders that never see the light of day).

Probably because of the cropped jacket. I'll probably make something from that series one of these days. I saw a fabulous design for a gender bent dress and bolero. It's already on the list of costumes I want to make (but never wear).

thanks! This made for quite an interesting challenge from beginning to end. I was terrified of shortening the jacket. A few people I know are a bit freaked at the notion of dissecting a vintage uniform, but at least this way it'll see the light of day versus hiding in my closet for the rest of time.

Yeah, I count myself among the "bit freaked" crowd when you first told me about it lol but it turned out beautifully! And I agree, better to take on a new life and worn than to rot away in a forgotten corner. ^_^

It's turned out to be loads of fun making corsets and costumes. My problem is I can't design things - this set was based on a sketch my friend did - but after lots of practice, I've gotten pretty good at recreating other peoples' stuff!

Well that's still something that I don't know how to do...

I can definitely design things..but idk how to make stuff. 

God, I'd so love to know how to make clothing lol.

I won't say it's easy, because it took me a while to get really good at it, but it's just like putting together a floppy, 3-D puzzle.
