Description Yu and a random Qualat character, because I wanted a new ID.

Ink, watercolor and modeling paste. The colors and contrast of the background are photoshopped a bit, because I messed that up in the original painting.

Ich mag die Kombi aus Realismus und Comic, wobei das erste sehr überwiegt. Tolle Colo, der Hintergrund ist ja auch spannend! *w*

I love the pose of the Qualat there... His hind foot getting all tangled up with Yu's tail adds an extra level of charm. I'm also very fond of this color palette, but I suppose that's not a surprise. Makes me want to do more ink and watercolor work, since I find that most fun!

(Also, those feet on the Qualat are lovely!)

Thank you so much! Color palettes are an evil thing in my opinion, but in this case it was alright. I'd be happy to see more ink & watercolor work from you, but everything else would be great to see as well! But I agree, it's very enjoyable to paint.

I'm actually rather reluctant to ask, but how is the second round of the contest judging going? The last info I found was the update in the comments in your latest journal. Anything new since then?

Haha, I totally feel the same: I always stress about how I'm going to botch the color, so take forever to finish it. I'm not proud of that, that's for sure. I think ink and watercolor tend to stress me out a little less, overall.

Second round is complete: I went ahead and finished it up myself last night, so I should really post the final results in a journal, shouldn't I?

Oh, I do, too! But I think it is, at least in my case, a problem of practice. I need so much more and have relatively little time to just try things. And that's another thing I like about watercolor and ink in the style of my drawing above, it just doesn't need so much time!

Ohh, that's good news, then! I think you really should, I'm sure everyone will be glad to see the results. I'm absolutely curious now! And I'm totally looking forward to see whom I can give an extra prize to and what it is!

Thank you! The Qualat aren't foxes (or canines in general), though, despite the muzzle markings.

Die Farben sind so schön! Und die Outlines gefallen mir auch, das Fell sieht so richtig schön locker und flauschig aus *_*
Bei dem Hintergrund siehts fast aus als hättest du nur die Strukturpaste drauf...war das dunkler im Original?!

Dankeschön! *3* <3 Der HG hat halt vor allem mehr Kontrast im Original, also die dunklen Stellen sind dunkler und die hellen noch heller. Aber vielleicht kann ich das noch ändern, von der Strukturpaste kriegt man ja manchmal die Farbe ganz gut wieder runter, wenn sie nicht zu dick ist.

Thank you, I'm happy you like it! :3 Ears, eyes and paws are all things I especially love to draw, maybe that shows? Although the Qualat's front paws are still not 100% like I wanted them, I'll have to work them out better next time.
