Something that is never lost on me having created many monuments to commemorate atrocious acts of violence, I have spent many long hours pondering the reasons and the gravity of what each one means. I cannot help but be overcome sometimes by the futility and the sacrifice of young lives. Just makes me wonder why we are not more like the civilized societies we claim to be.
