(2010) 2.5" x 2.5" for the pendant. Silver Art Clay (cut, carved, fired, antiqued, polished and burnished), silver wire, silver beads, faceted citrine drops, faceted tourmaline and olivine beads, silver clasp finding, fireline.

When I saw the subtle browns, golds and olive greens of the color-scheme for this necklace and the draping knotwork pattern I was reminded of the description of the forest of Lorien in "The Lord of the Rings".

"As soon as he had set foot upon the bank of Silverlode a strange feeling had come upon him, and it deepened as he walked on into the Naith: it seemed to him that he had stepped over a bridge of time into a corner of the Elder Days, and was now walking in a world that was no more... in Lorien the ancient things still lived on in the waking world." (p. 368 of the 1983 Unwin edition)

With all our sometimes boring and drab modern clothes it's nice to reach for at least one timeless piece that takes you to a different place now and again.
