Description
I made this originally for a valentines day write-off event from last month but due to various reasons I opted to hold onto it for a bit.This was an experiment in implying space. I wanted to give the impression the character was in a wide open space. I also added a few elements to imply how and why he's there. On another note, I use containing lines in most of my work so this time I removed the background lines and used a very feint blue to see if it implied the background was WAY far back.
My little Pony and the character Caramel are owned by Hasbro

Poor lonely Caramel - this really gets across that he's working hard, but he still doesn't know what Appplejack feels. That he's alone in his emotions still. Plus, your linework is fantastic.

That is one bangin' composition. Same goes for shading.

Coolness, The back ground looks good. it doesn't have the harsh edging that the black or containing lines give it and it makes the foreground pop out a bit more. it also gives more depth to the ground in the front where he is standing. It looks really good. congrads man.

The slightly out-of-focus background helps add to the illusion of distance. And I agree about the shadows cast from the hood-cover of the device. Not sure if that's a plow as it was used to plow away the snow in one of the episodes, but the device was later followed by another pony pulling a field-plow. I think they used this device to push away the snow.
