this is hilarious. i bought a magazine at some station a while back because i was bored. the magazine was an incredible waste of money. except for this picture... or maybe a picture from this session. i'm not sure whether i still own the magazine, but i'm pretty sure that page is still around... somewhere. anyway, i'm amused i found this here.

I agree with everyone who says this is a beautiful picture. And since I need a good reason to avoid starting on my work, I shall now elaborate.
Let's review this threedimensional image layer by layer - new approaches should always be explored. Ok, so first we have a wall. It intrigues me, because I can't pinpoint exactly what kind of wall it is. Is it concrete, painted, wallpapered? Maybe. It might be something different altogether. Unless you tell me (please don't), I'll never know. Apart from this wall being mysterious, it has a fine yet rough texture - in other words, I think it's beautiful. (I'm actually looking at a picture with an almost-naked woman in it and I'm calling the wall beautiful. Don't worry, I'll move on now.)
Apart from a wall, there is a floor. Due to my lame monitor, I can't see much more than a dark area with only a few hints of texture, so I'll have to skip that. I will comment on the composition here: the wall and the floor together, that's just about as simple as it gets. I greatly appreciate such simplicity - this picture needs nothing more.
Now for what's in front of the wall. Actually, I shouldn't say 'what'; I should say 'who', for this is a woman, a person, an individual, a living, conscious being. Or is she? I'm in doubt here. She appears humble, even somewhat degraded - although that might be too powerful a word. What is she doing? It seems obvious: she's sitting on her knees on the floor, one hand on her back, the other against the beautiful wall. A question enters my mind: why is she sitting there like that? Why would anyone do such a thing? Out of free will? I think not. Someone made her do it, and she had no choice. The blinded eyes and the clothes (or the lack of them) only strengthen that thought. Is she a woman? No. This is an object; she is at someone's disposal. Someone - who? - can do with her whatever he or she wants. But this person is not cruel, as one might think; not in a classic sense. This person doesn't abuse her, beat her - there are no marks to show for it. She is being treated with care, with an obscure kind of respect. The one who is her master, is also her servant. It is someone who clearly appreciates her body - otherwise she would have been given more clothes. All this indicates a strange kind of relationship - and even though not all strange things are intruiging, all intruiging things are more or less strange. Who is who? Who plays which part? Who is in control? What kind of understanding do we see portrayed here? What the hell is going on here?
Any picture that generates thoughts and feeds the imagination in such a way, is a good picture. No, not good - excellent.
