I'm wasn't entirely sure if this qualified as fanart, so I put it into the fantasy section. It's a thestral-- I don't know if JK Rowling invented them herself or if they're traditional mythical ceatures. I suppose they could be considered a variant of a Nightmare, since they look pretty similar, but I don't really know. It was certainly inspired by Harry Potter, at any rate. I'm favving this one, not only is it beautiful but you made the thestral look more like an animal than a demon - I mean that in a very good way, it looks more real. Good work!

Out of all the Thestral pictures iv'e seen here on Deviantart, this has to be the best. It's looks exactly how I imagine them.(you havn't covered it in horns and sharp teeth either!) I like the fact you blurred it into the darkness as well, it keeps it looking mysterious, rather than evil. Lovely pic ^^

AH! I'm so creeped! I hate Harry Potter, but thats okay. This is an awesome piece of art. I love the shades of grey, adn how the eyes just stand out like they are looking through your soul!
