THIS IS AN ART TRADE YEAH!!! With the super cool ThorinFrostclaw !!!!!!! I LOVE THORIN SO MUCH AAAAHHHHH. The mountain needs work but I'm trying to approach mountains as big shapes with form and not a bunch of small rocks but it's a process THE SHADING TOO i wanted to keep the contrast high by leaving her pretty dark on the front idk i'm slowly learning this bsBUT ANYWAY THIS WAS GREAT FUN THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TRADE HOLY COW!!!

As for the character himself, he sorta looks like he doesnt blend in, especially where his paws are. It almost feels like he is floating an inch off the ground, when his paws should be more in the snow, maybe darker shading where his paws are, or maybe some snow around his paws where he has his feet more strongly placed. The lighting is gorgeous on the character, but almost disrupts the actual look of the character. For a while, (until I saw the reference of the character) I thought that it was like a sheep wolf, the spots looked more like curly fur than anything else. (That would suck if I was the only person who thought that, then im just crazy XD)
I dont really know how you would fix that, but that's just what it looked like to me. I think the anatomy looks pretty "spot" on. (im sorry) and everything looks pretty well together. the character fits with the same style as the background, and it all blends in together in a wonderful, but cold atmosphere. I think this really turned out amazing! Good luck with the rest of your pieces!

I'll be totally honest I'm the actual worst at covering paws with snow like it always looks so wrong. So I just did a really minimal covering here as if the snow was half an inch deep or something. But THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad the character and background fit together well!!!

It's no problem! I actually found this video a little while ago that shows something of the same perspective, but with snow really being a part of the main subject

Yeah mountains are such a a pain to do! Like I either make them too smooth or too rocky UGH. But you did them very nicely and I love the curvy style to them. Your style makes them really interesting to look at. I also like the warmer colors you used in this painting as well. I have no idea how you made that harsh cold environment so cozy and beautiful. And the way you posed the character makes them so majestic looking.

AREN'T THEY???? ANNOYING??????? I have this exact problem like my mountains usually look like big piles of rocks and like they ARE???? big piles of rocks??? BUT ITS SOMEHOW WRONG????? hngh. your mountains are good though!!!! you're gonna be a mountain expert in like no time!!! AND I LOVE SNOWY PLACES!!! like stuff covered in snow always has this nice orangey peachey look to it I don't know if it's the angle of the sun or what BUT ITS SO GOOD!!! I WILL TELL YOU HOW I DID THE MOUNTAINS!!!!!!! it's really nothing special but first I started by roughing in the SUPER basic form and shadows look i even have a WIP shot and once I did that, I took a rough textured brush and added in the snow and rocks!! which is really just scribbles tbh. And then I pushed the shadows and lighting more with a big airbrush on an overlay layer!!!!

THAT'S MY BIGGEST PROBLEM TOO my mountains tend to look like big piles of rocks instead of rock formations which is distinction I never though existed but it totally does???? Blocking in the shadows first really helps though too!! PLUS here's the full size shhhh I just made a bunch of scribbles really but it looks okay zoomed out so????
