I could narrate a book based on this one.
What I see is, the woman loves the man and wishes to reach out, to cross the rift and go to him. The man is indifferent, facing away from the woman, placing himself apart and above her. Selfish and unconcerned. But in so placing himself, the man has also imprisoned himself on a ledge, against a cliff face. Without love he has an empty life, un-able to travel the long and enriching road that is life.
God, I hope they're not married.

Thinking it over, they probably are. sadly, it's seems that only a married couple is capable of bringing the art of a love/hate realationship to such a pinnacle. Though my own is doing fine,
BTW, I did see the face in the painting, just had to stand back aways, as I had it in large view.

well i took your comment seriously cos i felt the same abt it after i had scanned and out this up...........but thanks for pointing it out.........although this picture is abt the BLUES even though the title is Passion.........maybe i should call it THE RIFT! i wanted to emphasize on the MASSIVE rift along with the underlying passion!

Orange is OK, then maybe you should try to lessen large white part between the blue ones (under orange) in order to highlight the rift; it (white under orange) reduce the effect of the white on the rift. Don't you think that large white area leave the figures and the rift in second plain?

White of the rift is indispensable.. It's a little bit hard to express but it would be different to talk in real life.. take care..
