Ever wondered why Mass Effect has no influence system?
And BTW, that's Xan from Baldur's Gate.

I do also wish that Mass Effect had the influence system. It would have made the romances feelΒ more rewarding.

I wish it had an influence system, would have made much more sense than simple loyal/disloyal.Β

I was thinking dragon age tbh, but considering its supposed to be a "spiritual succesor" of baldurs gate...

yeah..

nonetheless why?? i believe its because mass effect is an ACTION rpg... and for someone with social skills that are... well pathetic (including myself) its easier to get a romance achivement in mass effect than dragon age..

although i wont lie i like origins, and kotor's dialouge system... but if me is to use that then it needs to use me3s respect system where renegade and paragon stack on each not seperately..

btw please show that issue with miranda/jack and tali/legion where you need to almost go EXCLUSIVELY paragon or renegade to fix it.

P.s: yes i only have an account for comments... i like doing that.

HAH! I recognized him before I read the comment!

But you're right, your companions should comment more frequently on your actions. I heard you get most of them in ME if you take Ashley and Kaidan along... who wants that???

Ha, I always punch out that annoying scientist even if I`m playing with a paragon shep. I think he finally dies in ME2

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Epantiras In reply to Renegade64 [2010-10-24 20:25:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes, he's the one behind the Firewalker project (from the Hammerhead DLC). If I'm not mistaken, Shepard was meant to find an audio recording of that guy mentioning that they met on Eden Prime, but it does not appear in the final game, therefore you're left to wonder who the hell that scientist was.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Renegade64 In reply to Epantiras [2010-10-25 07:11:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I think the audio file is in there somewhere, just unused.

Every page of this comic has made me laugh so far, its wonderful...
I heard that Bioware was going to reconsider putting an influence system in ME3 since it went over well with DA, it will be interesting to see what happens...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Epantiras In reply to SparklingRogue [2010-10-24 20:30:21 +0000 UTC]

If ME3 will have an influence system, I guess it will be less complex that the one in DA ~_^

They try to put this system into the second game, but it fails, because whether you destroy or save the collector base, EVERYONE agrees in saying you're right and that was the right thing to do.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Epantiras In reply to Lorcan0c [2010-10-24 20:31:38 +0000 UTC]

Really? I've heard squadmates voiced their disagreement if you kept the base.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lorcan0c In reply to Epantiras [2010-10-24 20:47:34 +0000 UTC]

I may be mistaken. I'm not claiming knowledge over everything. If I'm wrong, I apologise. I wasn't trying to start a fight, but I do agree with you. There ought to be an approval / dissaproval system in the next game.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Epantiras In reply to Lorcan0c [2010-10-24 21:01:54 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry! I was talking about things I've read, not seen with my eyes, therefore I may be the one who's mistaken

Lorcan0c In reply to Epantiras [2010-10-24 21:03:30 +0000 UTC]

Cylexus [2010-10-24 12:02:55 +0000 UTC]

Heh Xan.

I figured the lack of Influence system was Mass Effect/Bioware trying to recreate the Genre of RPG. More Shooty, less morale choice more be the person you want to be. Renegades are sort of sacrafice the few for the many Greater Good stuff, Paragons are more save everyone at cost of self - and bits in between.

So its different from straight up good and evil.

And it has Railguns.
