Damn... That is heartwrenching. And Like many others have said, powerful. It reminds me alot of when they were settliong the west and capturing the mustangs, and killing many.

This was from Spirit, wasn't it?

equusrevelrous In reply to CrazyTheInsane [2009-05-25 21:56:52 +0000 UTC]

I guess it might be a little similar to it, but I drew it before Spirit came out, so it's all from my own head

This is so.. heart-wrenching. >.> I feel like, crying. I cry even when I see fake horses get destroyed or something. That's just me.
But otherwise, you did a great job in expressing what you meant in this picture. Wonderful. ^^

Aww! Poor horse! How can people be so cruel?

wwhimsical [2008-10-02 19:45:48 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh!
What a poignant, beautiful piece.
The way you've captured the time and struggle of the horse is excellent, especially in only three snapshots.
Wonderful!

Bundibird In reply to Kona-Bali [2007-08-24 05:07:19 +0000 UTC]

People STILL do that. They do pretty much that when they're breaking them in.

I dont know why, when there are some SERIOUSLY better options out there for how they could domesticate them. Ever heard of Monty Roberts people??

yeah I have...isn't he the horse wisperer?....he rules!

Bundibird In reply to Kona-Bali [2007-08-25 05:45:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, hes the horse whisperer... hes great!

My sister's doing an equine course atm, and shes studied how he befriends them and evrything. Its really good. he studied how horses comunicate, and he basically just acts how horses act to gain eachothers trust.

where 'breaking' a horse in can take up to 3 days, monty roberts version (join up) takes only 30 minutes, and is much more comfortable for both the horse and the trainer. i dont understand why all horses arent domesticated like that!

Kona-Bali In reply to Bundibird [2007-08-25 18:49:10 +0000 UTC]

That sounds amazing...what's the course called? that sounds like something that I would like to learn someday

agreed all horses should be broken with that method!...my first horse was broken by my tranier using Monty Robert's methods

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bundibird In reply to Kona-Bali [2007-08-26 11:47:07 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I cant remember what the course is called... i'll ask my sister next time i talk to her. (I'm not living at home at the moment) Yeah, I'm really interested in it too! I wouldnt mind doing the course my self, except that i'm already in the middle of another course and i have no time... Lol.

Thats great that your first horse was Monty Roberts broken... i recon its such a nicer method of training them. And i recon they're more likely to be nice natured horses if you gain their trust, rather than say, "Obey me, or i shall hurt you!" Personally... I'd fight back.

I'll get the name of that course for you.

I loved this, its really great, but do you think you should write the author of the song and the title, so no one thinks your stealing it as your own, ya know?
