I was working on my new Steampunk outfit and thought I would take a little picture.Β

Fantastic design Miss E! There has always been something about a woman in a corset that just draws my eye, yet corset choice and use is not always to flattering advantage. Here is one of the times it is. It goes well with the rest of the visual choices to make an appealing look that is in genre and unique unto itself. The details of this corset, gloves, boots and I'm not sure of the correct term for the high neck/collar bone part, is very steampunk with those flourishes that exemplifies the style. The same goes for the blouse and the goggles are a nice final touch what I'll call the accent of this ensemble. It all weaves together so well to make an attractive look of a character who looks both bound in her attire, yet free in spirit, ready to have adventures. Very well done Miss E!

Thank you, JJ.Β I love the steampunk aesthetic, I think the concept is a very neat alternate reality.Β The clothes are great, conservative yet sexy at the same time, and the gentlemen's attire is mostly very classy.Β It takes the romanticism of the era and gives it a modern, fantasy twist.Β I think the neck piece is called a posture collar or neck corset, but don't quote me on that, maybe someone more expert than me can chime in.Β

This will seem cliche, but now that you mention it, yes I do know those terms, I use them in rps I've done and I suppose I should be glad none of the girls there will read this or they'd ask, what do you mean you didn't know. What are the boots and corset 'made of'? Some kind of metal/armour? I love it when outfits combine sexiness with looking like they could actually do their job in it (exception for crazy stilettos - thry are essential)

I think it's all just leather with metal buckles, from the way it looks in Second Life.Β Probably just as well since it leaves some pretty vital areas uncovered.Β

Thank you, Mollz!Β It's from ROSAL, so it cost a fortune but it does have a million color combinations you can use.Β Every little bit of trim is individually tintable.Β And Nick is working on it!Β I took this picture in front of one of the buildings he's making for it while he was working on it.Β It looks really good.Β Talk to him when you get a chance, he's got some nice ideas for the scene but I'm sure he'd like some more input, and you know more about steampunk than the rest of us.Β

I know it wasn't your intention, but all morning I have been thinking about how much I did in SL and how much I miss a lot of it...I did all those Steam Hunts up until I left, they were SO much fun and I got SO many cool outfits and gadgets and other steampunk thingies...someday I need to go back inworld just to take a million pictures of everything!!!!

I am working on a couple more steampunk outfits and I will try to include that.Β I also have a pretty good tricorn that would make a good airship pirate hat, but hats and hair don't get along very well in SL.Β
