I think that for a really striking jawline, a hybrid of the second incorrect one and the correct one could be used.

yeah! i mean 

as an artist, you can bend reality a little to make it look the way you want it to
this is one of the cases where i would ignore proper anatomy to make things look a certain way

yeah..... i feel like life drawing really helps with this! 
very good for learning anatomy that you can later bend and exaggerate in fun ways
