Description This is for my 5th Assignment in my digital imaging class titled Optical Delusions. The objective of the assignment was to take an image and seamlessly swap out some of the elements with something bizarre or interesting to make a strong, unique, and creative new image. I chose to take macro shots of butterfly wings I took at the Butterfly House and use them for the petals of a flower I took at the local Botanical Conservatory. The thing that interests me is that the botanical gardens in Balboa park already has flowers that look like this without photo manipulation... well not quite as butterflyie... is that word? If it isn't it should be...

Anyway... wicked concept... and a nice smooth overlay... keep up the super fantastic happy fun work...

Not at all what I expected when I saw the title. It's wonderful, everything just seems to be seamlessly united here: the focus, colours, cropping, the whole idea. It'd be so lovely to have flowers like this growing in our garden, mom would love them. We actually have these flowers there, I've tried photographing them too but not with such a great success you've done here.
Truly, a great and unique idea, too bad your prof didn't like it. But at least you have our support here.
