Mekt Rannz in this Elseworld future is a metahuman with electrical generation and manipulation abilities who is revealed to be descendant from the bloodline of Leslie Willis, the Superman/Supergirl foe in this Elseworld Universe known as Livewire and is this Elseworld's incarnation of Lord Volt.

Overly arrogant and ambitious, Mekt Rannz has been a criminal metahuman since his teens when his electrical generation and manipulation abilities emerged using them for personal gain. Rannz primarily sold his metahuman skills as a high paid criminal mercenary until he was hired as an enforcer for the Dark Circle prior to usurping control of the group for himself. Although he currently shares leadership of the Dark Circle with the Emerald Empress and Universo, Lord Volt still maintains primary control of the Dark Circle.

Lord Volt is the father of two children in this alternate future, Garth and Ayla, both born to a long standing non metahuman lover of the elder Ranzz and both inherited some form of his metahuman electrical abilities. Garth seemingly having strictly electrical generation and Ayla electrical manipulation and absorption. Mekt and Garth had a falling out when his son was in his early teen’s due to circumstances involving the mysterious death of Garth and Ayla’s mother and Mekt’s possible involvement. Ayla Rannz served as an enforcer for the Dark Circle until very recently when she to began to question her father as to whether or not he had a hand in their mother’s death.
