It's been a long while since I submitted anything here, but now I've got something I can show again! This is a collaboration I did with Jon Sommariva aka Red J, of Barret from Final Fantasy 7 (in case you're not familiar with the character then shame on you). Had some fun on this one and it's been a while since I busted out Painter again. Jon posted slightly brightened up version of this picture here !Pencils: Jon "Red J" Sommariva!

Now HERE is a guy you just don't see too much fan-art of. Major love for the trembling fist of inner rage. (^_^) Quite the stunning piece, too. Very moody with the dim lighting. I'd dare say this is quite possibly the best Barrett fan-art I've ever seen.

There's something in this one that has a familiar ring to it.... It really reminds me of Metal Slug in the way of the color scheme w/ Red's face, marvelous man!

there's alot of comments on this which i can't be arsed to read so anything i say is original but i clicked on this link and saw mister gun hand himself, fucking awsome piece of work i loved the battle between barret and the other guy with the gun hand it was so cool (just like your work) brilliant drawing and awsome colours.. i like alot. good work overall (more than i can say for mine lol) keep it up dude.

A really great colouring job. I don't know the reference, and don't care, because the piece stands up amazingly well by itself. I like the fact that you've kept the tones down to a minimum - a lot of game homages seem to be too glaringly loud and bright. This has a nice grungy element to it but is still beautifully executed. Kudos to the pencils man too.

Haha, nice to see some FF fanart that doesn't include pale and anorexic people, for once. The lines are so distorted, it almost looks like a charicarure, but his badass still shines through. Excellent, gritty colours too.
