Description Spent several days at the dog park relaxing and drawing the many friendly mutts that came to say hi. This was not a study in drawing dogs anatomically correct or nailing down specific textures and pieces (though that sometimes appears if one sits down long enough). Instead the focus was on how the dogs moved, interacted, and reacted. Dog acting like dogs with other dogs. The results were interesting and it was an awesome excuse to get outside and get some fresh air.

That is such a great idea! makes me want to take my sketchbook to the dog park C:
It's awfully hard to draw them when they're running all around though

Fun. Isn't hard to sketch dogs though, they move around alot and stuff, so how did you get that done?

Draw fast and when you look, make a mental snapshot. It's not about getting it EXACTLY right anyway. It's about catching the essence of the thing.

I love this! Why didn't I think of going to a dog park to draw? I would love that! Unfortunately my dog isn't fond of dog parks...so I couldn't really take her with me, and that half of me would be bummed out. But maybe I should totally take my sketchbook down to a dog park and draw!
