Really enjoyed this one. I haven't broken out my watercolors in a long time and this subject just begged for them. Loved working on the hangglider especially. I never knew how many different kinds there were! So cool.
So yep watercolors, a smidge of white acrylic paint for the highlights, and a little pen to line the painted border

also not sure what you mean by secondaries. The secondaries in that picture are knitted extremely close together. If you're talking about the outermost primaries, I can see what you mean.

This is true, there'd be a minute amount more space, but I wanted to stylize the bird a bit and so give it a slightly more uniform wing

a little watercolor pencil just to get some basic coverage, but it was mostly my mini winsor newton set

Oh man watercolors are just lovely with this piece. Well done with the angling as well as the semi-simple background. I like the slight texturing in the feathers and scarf of the magpie, makes it appear even closer by having more details to it like that.
