And "voila!" We have the creation of a "constrictor gag." Here it rears up like a snake about to strike, and when it does...

This should answer some questions folks were asking about Avora's dream on Pages 6 and 7 of this chapter--what she was dreaming was a reflection of what was happening to her in the dark reality of the Undercellar.

Sorry I'm a bit late with this one. Adeline Debaire provided me with the stock photos for Madame Zirena. Thanks, Adeline!

Enjoy!

I love this... but I'm wondering how this gag is better than the other one... I'll find out I guess? I love the expressions in this one... and Deirdre's hair... it just looks so "touchable" ... great!

I'm glad you like it. The constrictor gags are important because they can't be removed without Jervil's magical "keyword" and because they'll keep the captives quiet and somewhat docile against Jervil and his little minions. With a word the ratman can make them do a "Vader" pinch and cut off the girls' breath. With a collection of willful captives like Jervil's got here now, one of them is bound to be defiant (hmm, interesting way of putting that, ), and this is his insurance to keep things under control.

Thanks!

"bound" to be defiant? ha, ha... well... I have my hopes up for Deirdre... by far my favorite of the captive bunch!

(thanks for explaining that, it makes sense now!)

The girls look truly horrified, but I don't see the purpose of using one gag or the other. If he wants her killed he should just kill her. If he wants her gagged...well, that was already in place.

faile35 In reply to cilka [2007-11-25 15:07:58 +0000 UTC]

The gag that was there previously was just a temporary thing that Callista made out of Deirdre's torn shift. This flashy new gag lasts "forever," defies attempts to take it off, responds to Jervil's commands and will even allow its wearer to obtain nourishment without being removed. It's all the rage in Kidnappertown... Thanks!

This ... does not bode well for Dierdre.

She'd better get all the talking she wants to do done now, she won't have an opportunity later

"Meet your new best friend. His name is Silky and he enjoys soaking in saliva and turning screams for help into pathetic mewls. Now give him a kiss."

HAH! Nice pair of "WTF?!" faces you got there.
Deirdre's about to switch from her measly torn-nightgown-gag to a silken, magical, truly top-notch damsel gag. Hey, someone in her situation has to take a source of pride wherever they can find one.
Now all that's left is a set of chains and she'll be an official member of the Undercellar Club.

I reaaaally like Deirdre's face here. It's so expressive. I'm not sure whether she saw this being done to Avora and so I'm not sure if this is surprise or dismay, but it sure is powerful.
I also really like her hair in this.

And of all the magically animated, snakelike pieces of silk I've seen, this one is the most lifelike. I swear I can hear that thing hissing . . .

Poor Deirdre. Her one mistake was not noticing Callista. And why don't I actually feel bad about it?

Another evil laugh. I love those.

Glad you like Deirdre's face. Her cute, innocent looking features have been lots of fun to twist into these expressions of fear, outrage, and shock. And the requisite chains for Undercellar Club membership are on the next page.

Hmm... Looks like something the girls at *Slytherin* would cook up to put Hermoine in her place... together with twenty meters of enchanted rope, of course. "Abducto constrictum!"

Excellent... but the rope needs work. If it's tight enough to dimple the skin of her upper arms, it should be a straight run to the over-the-spine hitch. You with me?

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!! :turkey: <-There's no such emoticon... but there *should* be!

Thanks for the suggestion on the rope! That's a relatively quick fix. I'm glad you like the rest. "Abducto constrictum" indeed!

Definitely in need of a good turkey emoticon...

I initially had him close in, his face next to hers as the gag rears up, and he ended up drawing the eye too much, so I straightened him up and let his grin speak his entire part in the picture. I hope it's not too distracting/disappointing. Thanks!

You guys catching that grin on Jervil's face?

Any second now, he's gonna twirl those whiskers of his, Snidely Whiplash style.

And while Deidre's expression, is, indeed, awesome...

I also like Madame Zirena's.

faile35 In reply to Fatherbrain30 [2007-11-25 18:22:38 +0000 UTC]

Yes. Callista made a gag of Deirdre's torn shift at the end of "Fair Harvest," [link] , and the poor girl's been wearing that ever since.

Holy Crap, Deirdre, shut your mouth!

God, this is just horrifying, kind of like Avora's flowers...or the facehugger scene from Alien...

The expression on D's face is SO well done--great work! I really feel sorry for her for what's coming...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

faile35 In reply to HungryCats [2007-11-25 18:25:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's the idea. However, what Avora was dreaming at the beginning of this chapter [link] was a combination of what was really going on with the constrictor gag and what she had experienced in "Twisted Plot" with the Sleeper's Bane going down her throat. The constrictor gag won't actually go past her mouth, although it will slip in between her teeth and become a cleave gag as it tightens up.

Thanks!

an animated target seeking undestructible gag. Thats really a nifty invetion. Hail to Jervil, he is a real genius

Can it be distracted or does it follow its victim ? Since Deirdres blood was used in the binding it seems to know where it should place itself.
