I wasn't originally going to post this one online, but I figured since it was one of the larger projects in the Portfolio Prep course I should.
I got a little too caught up in trying different mixed media rather than focusing on getting things to sit well together, and that combined with how long all the embroidery tests took (seriously don't do embroidery without embroidery thread) left the finished artwork rushed with bad composition and colour that didn't match the top and bottom. So I cut the whole thing in half.
There's still issues with this version, I'd prefer the seal flipped to be on the left instead to balance the composition but over all the artwork is stronger without the top half of it.
I did have great fun with the water: layers of pebeo, fabric, netting, shells and beads which all turned into something rather cool. Though I just wish that extend to the rest.
