Description I've decided to do a series of pictures of gothic girls/women. they aren't all gothic in the same way, and some wouldn't consider the Bride as being gothic maybe? I'm going by the look and the fact that she was a corpse...lol

this is the original Bride of Frankenstein from the film played by Elsa Lanchester (not Shelley, which is my version of her in my other works) I tried to capture the wide eyed look she had in the film. That character was only on screen for about 12 minutes, but boy what an impact she had!

I learned quite recently that part of the reason for her hair being like that was to create a silhouette similar to Cleopatra pretty cool

You didn't accentuate the figure as much as you did in some of your past pictures of the Bride of Frankenstein but I'd recognize her anywhere. Nice.

true, the other pictures were a little more of my interpretation.
I was going by the original film for this and in the movie you don't
really see her body as she's covered in that large sheet, lol

Indeed that makes perfect sense.

^^ and her hair is meant to look like Nefertiti!
I found that so cool when I read about it

I'm not 100% sure, but I guess they wanted her silhouette to
be iconic like hers. must have helped, she only had about 12
minutes on screen and she's still a very popular character

I like the idea for the series can't wait to see who you pull out of the woodworks for it.

I like that you did your research for this piece makes it feel more personnal in a way. Also, it lets me know you made very specific choices for a reason which is respectable.

overall great work as usual

your line work is very clean which i've come to expect nothing less from your work. the colors look really cool. the background is nice but i feel like maybe it could've been something a bit more dark like a grey stone wall with cracks and heavy shadow...just to give it that more goth feel, but thats more what i would have done rather then to say it looks bad because it doesnt.

I actually knew all of that beforehand, the Bride
is my favourite classic universal monster ^^
but I do like looking up stuff about characters that
I like and after I saw the movie I just had to

ah true, a stone wall would also have been good but I
did that for another recent picture and I felt like
something a little more abstract.

thanks very much! I'm glad you like it and that you
appreciate the info ^^
