Description She's got faith in humanity, even after how they treated her. Her scar reminds us how cruel people can be.

Another portrait of Faith, a black lab mix I fostered a long while back. She's the one that was shot at, and had a small scar on her forehead. You probably can't see it very well in the drawing, but it's there.

I felt like drawing her, after going through my ref images of her.

In the photo, she had two different light sources, which is why there's both blue and yellow in her coat.

She had a collar on, but it was barely showing, so I just left it out.

Sorry about the black specks in the background. It was late, and I really didn't feel like coloring, or having to work on this the next day. XD

Sketched with an HB mechanical pencil. Colored with Prismacolor colored pencils. Highlights done with white acrylic paint.

It's amazing how tolerant and innocent some animals can be..some never even remember the cruel acts of people. I really admire that you take these animals into your care. You draw them really well, and I love this portrait of Faith. Sometimes I wonder what their eyes can tell, it's my favourite part of the pic.

You're going to make me cry missing my boy... (Ok, you did a little.) So sweet and so like poses he would lay in. I know black labs share a lot of common traits, so I'm sure that's not unusual. I don't know why I find the 6-7 month mark so difficult, but it's particularly painful this month missing him. Thanks for sharing your work and your image of him hangs on my wall to remind me of his happy, sweet face every single day.

Oh wow this looks wonderful ^____^ You did a lovely job on the colouring n_n the dual lightsource is a really nice touch it makes the picture look more interesting and it contrasts really well with the black of the fur too 8D the shading on this looks really smooth as well :3 and the texture is really neat and subtle as well Beautiful work on drawing the face the head angle is so adorable She looks so friendly and the paw looks great too 8D it looks so realistic n____n amazing piece!!!!

I love black labs, they're so friendly and just great dogs overall. Plus, they pose really well. XD I love the colors, and the dual lightsource was a good idea. 8D It adds depth to it. <3
