for industrial shots go to essen, it is between cologne and düsseldorf, there is an industrial area very famous where you are allowed to photographed...--->World Heritage Site Zeche Zollverein in Essen, Germany.
i have never been there myself but i guess it is interesting. and bavaria and the area around berlin is beautiful.
