Of course there's a chance - it's certainly not easy, and takes a heck of a lot of dedication, practice, time and patience (and money), but there are many tutorials and classes out there on sewing and pattern making. There's no reason why you shouldn't be as successful at it as the next person. And hey, if it turns out not to be your cup of tea, then I'm sure there's some other craft or art that you'd enjoy!
