This was only a test shot as I climbed up on the mountain top to scout for future spots when the weather gets better (it was grey and cloudy otherwise). But I liked it when I got home, gloomy clouds ftw. Will definetly get back there when the sky promises more sunset. Cloned out a little branch and rock in the foreground.I know the mountain line on the right is too dark, but I liked the threatening effect of it. Also, it didn't show the trolls hiding, they don't like to be photographed. Otherwise I would get clubbed in the head.
Canon 5D mark II, 24-105, nd grad filter.

The gloom clouds look great! Especially the one on the right, it looks like it's dipping down.

I agree that the clouds are amazing, I love the bright fringe on the bottoms of them. I don't find the distant mountains too dark, they are not the focus really and since the clouds are dark they don't distract me with darkness. A shame the bright spot wouldn't cooperate by lining up to relect in the lake for you!

As I said, it was a test shot, but now I of course wish I had taken the time to line up the filters so they covered the lake. But I am coming back for this for the more proper landscape shot soon. Thanks!
