Sweet green eyes of this friendly Florida Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus floridanus) down in the 'Glades...The Florida Everglades are the home of this fish-eating, diving bird, the smallest of the five subspecies of the Double Crested Cormorant.

The Japanese use to fish rivers using cormorants. They would slide a ring over the head and down the neck, this would keep the cormorant from fully swallowing the fish. After each catch the bird was pulled back to the boat and the fish removed.
